New Year Resolution – Part 3

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

In recent articles we’ve been talking about New Year Resolutions. We’ve already covered how to write them and also long-term vs. short-term goals. In this article we’re going to take a look at the exercise in a New Year Resolution.
A successful resolution must include exercise. Is it possible to lose weight through dieting alone? Yes. Is it possible to maintain a lower weight through dieting alone? Again, the answer is yes. But is weight loss through dieting a healthy weight loss? Probably not. Let’s look at why.
The #1 reason why dieting alone will not lead to a healthy weight for life is that when we diet without exercising (specifically, resistance exercise) up to 50% of the weight we lose will be muscle mass. Now, this will vary from person to person based on genetics, age, sex, hormone levels, etc. but an average is that 1/2 of the weight we lose on that crash diet is from muscle loss.
Why does that matter? Well, there’s a lot of reasons. Here are just two:
1) Muscle is more dense than fat (takes up less space), so losing muscle vs. losing only fat means that while the weight may come off the inch loss will be slower. Losing five pounds of fat will make us lose more inches (size) than losing 2 pounds of fat and 3 pounds of muscle.
2) Another reason why losing muscle is bad is that muscle is the fat-burning furnace of the body. It’s a well-documented fact that 1 pound of muscle burns about 50 calories more each day than 1 pound of fat. Muscle is an active part of the body, generating movement and burning fat. On the other hand, fat is really just a storage unit for excess calories. Fat doesn’t do much of anything, and therefore doesn’t burn calories like muscle. So, every time we lose 1 pound of muscle we are forcing our body to burn fewer calories each day.
As we age, we all lose some muscle naturally. That’s a fact we can’t change. But why speed things up by dieting without exercising? Muscle helps us balance, protects our bones, makes us look lean and firm, gives us strength for life, and burns calories.
So it’s easy to see that our New Year Resolution should include exercise and not just dieting. It’s not an exaggeration to say that the reason many (most?) people fail with their New Year Weight Loss Resolution is that they don’t include exercise. It seems easier to try yet another diet, hoping that this year will be different.
Well, now we know the facts! The facts are that dieting without exercise (specifically, resistance exercise) will lead to muscle loss. Losing muscle means that we are burning fewer calories each day, and burning fewer calories each day means that it’s harder to lose weight.
This process of going on a crash diet, losing muscle, putting the weight back on, going on another crash diet, losing more muscle, and so on is known as yo-yo dieting. It’s the reason why so many New Year Weight Loss Resolutions will fail this year.
Let’s be different. Let’s be smart. Let’s exercise!

What Is It About The Pug Dog?

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Have you ever wondered why so many people are choosing the pug over any other dog to own as a pet? First impressions aren’t really all that appealing when you think about it. Some people would even go as far as saying that they look like they have just run flat into a wall and that’s how they’re gotten their appearance. So why do people still choose the pug over any other…
Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover
It it widely known that pug dogs have one of the best personalities out evry domestic dog breed in the world. Experts believe that they are especially good for young children as they are unlikely ever to bite or attack in any way, shape or form. The fact that they are a very hardy dog also makes them a good choice for families with small children. They love to be played with and thrown around as long as you are not too rough with them ofcourse. in fact they are one of the only smaller breeds of dogs that can take a bit of playful agression.
The trait that the pug dog is most commonly known for however is its constant loving nature to every living creature. “The wouldn’t hurt a soel”. This is something most pug owners will tell you when you ask them what it’s like owning a dog such as a pug.
Things To Be Wary Of For New Pug Dog Owners
The first and most important thing that new pug owners should be wary of is the fact that pugs can have problems breathing at times. It is important to keep them cool at all times, especially in summer. It’s a good idea to cary a water bottle with you everytime you walk you pug down to the park. Better still, fill up an empty water-spraying device like the ones from detergent bottles and whenever you see that your pug is becoming dehydrated and you notice it is panting heavier than usual, spray your dog on the face a few times. I guarantee he/she will love it!
The second thing to look out for as a pug owner is their bad smell. Pugs have different glands than most other dogs and therefore give off a more distinct smell. It is suggested that you wash your pug twice a week and purchase a fragrance of some sort to couteract the smell. This is especially needed if you are deciding to keep your pug dog indoors.

Car Donation – Get The Facts First Before You Donate A Car

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Look around the yard, do you have an old car you want to or should get rid of? Is the car just taking up precious space and slowly deteriorating from lack of maintenance and proper care because you don’t need it? Then for you a charitable car donation may be worth more than using the car as a trade-in or in any other way. If you decide to donate a car and the car donation is accepted, the charity arranges for and takes care of any towing expenses and provides you with the necessary documents for your tax return.
Donating a car eliminates the expense of any advertising, the loss of privacy and possible security risk from potential buyers. No need to pay for annual vehicle registration and/or emissions testing or insurance, and no need for any repairs to keep your car in running condition while you wait for a buyer. It’s easy, just fill out the forms the charity gives you and have them ready for the driver when he comes to pick up the car. A large chunk of your car donation money when it’s received by the charity after they sell the vehicle, should not taken out for administrative fees or investments. Make sure to find out how much of your donation money goes for these fees.
Your car, truck, RV, boat, aircraft or other vehicle is usually marketed by the charity through various means including their own car lots and middlemen and sold to a buyer who is in need of a good used vehicle. If you’re thinking about donating your automobile to charity, be sure to check out thoroughly the charity or car donation program that handles the donation. Certain commercial firms and trade organizations publish guides known as ‘blue books,’ that state the average resale prices based on the model and year of your vehicle. You can find these blue books at your library in the reference section or online.
If your auto, truck, boat, motorcycle, RV or other vehicle is no longer of use to you, it can still go a long way toward helping support a reputable charity of your choice. Best of all, by not selling the car yourself, you don’t have to worry or wonder about total strangers calling you and getting information about where you live, or coming to your house to see the car or other vehicle.
Charities don’t need to send you a form for cars that eventually sell for less than $500, but you’ll still be able to deduct up to $500 on your tax return.
If it’s necessary to go through a car donation program middleman, which you can find online, find out what percentage of your donation will go to charity and shop around for the best deal. There are a quite a few of them online.
As for your benefits, you as the donor of the car benefits from the donation by receiving a tax receipt for the highest possible value of the vehicle.
Make sure you have easy access to the title of the vehicle. If you have an unused vehicle just sitting around, you never know when a storm might cause damage to your vehicle or if it might get vandalized or if it’s on the street get involved in an accident. Some charities that run their own program, instead of hiring a car donation program middleman, are discriminating about which vehicles they will accept, repair and materially improve. They sell most of their vehicles at retail prices. One thing to note, your vehicle must have all four of its tires inflated to be accepted.
Important, one of the exceptions to the new IRS tax regulations allows donors to still deduct the fair market value of their vehicle, provided the charity materially improves the vehicle. Charities usually provide you with a release of liability when they take your vehicle away. After the car sells, they send you a tax-deduction form that explains how much they received for your car.
Charities look at car donations from both the point of view of the donor of the car and of themselves as the charity receiving it. You can get a car donation tax deduction up to the maximum limits allowed by the IRS. You may also donate your car online to individual charities or through the car donation programs, some of which contract with charities.
It used to be able that you could deduct the fair market value of the vehicle at the time of the deduction – but not anymore. In wear and tear, minor repairs and breakdowns, an average vehicle owner might spend more than $3000 per year so a good reason not to keep the extra car around. In the end the donor is responsible to an extent to ascertain the value of their car donation after discussing with the charity.
A charity car donation is becoming more common as people discover the nice car donation tax deduction that is available. Choosing the best charity for your car donation can be overwhelming and you want to make sure your choice is the best and right choice for you. Why not donate your car, truck, boat, RV, motorcycle or even aircraft today and enjoy a nice car donation tax deduction on your annual income tax return.

Accidents at Work – Disease, Deafness and Other Long-Term Injuries

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

“Employment is nature’s physician and is essential for human happiness” Galen, ca 180 AD. In 2003/04 30 million working days were lost to illness that were caused by work related issues. Two million people believed they were suffering from a work related illness in 2003/04. ½ a million people were said to be suffering from stress/depression or anxiety. 183,000 claimed to have breathing or lung problems. Hearing problems were sustained by 81,000, skin problems by 31,000 and heart disease/attack by 66,000.
These harrowing figures are a shocking insight into the abuse of health and safety in the work place. Although these figures have improved slightly now; health concerns due to occupations are still a major problem.
An occupational disease is a chronic ailment that occurs as a result of work. It is when symptoms of diseases are more prevalent in bodies of workers than the general public.
Improving organisation, work practises, addressing issues such as workload (over or under), matching workers skills to their jobs and having clear lines of accountability and responsibilities are all appropriate steps to prevent ill health occurring in the work place. The right work patterns, security and ensuring a ‘happy’ work place as well as good communication and safe working practises not only improve the safety of the work place but also creates a better working environment.
Examples of occupational disease are:
• Black lung disease – normally seen in coal mining industry
• Carpel Tunnel Syndrome – occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. The symptoms are usually burning, tingling, or itching numbness in the palm of the hand and the fingers, especially the thumb and the index and middle fingers with some people even stating their fingers feel useless and swollen even though they appear fine.
• Radiation Sickness – seen in the nuclear industry
• Byssinosis – disease of the lungs caused by breathing in cotton dust or dusts from other vegetable fibers such as flax, hemp, or sisal while at work
• COPD, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease – the symptoms of COPD are a persistent cough/phlegm, shortness of breath and chest infections. Once the damage of COPD has taken effect it cannot be reversed. COPD is damaged airways in the lungs, causing them to become narrow, making it harder for air to get in and out of the lungs.
• Silicosis – The Oldest of all work related diseases. It develops over time when dust from Silica is inhaled into the lungs. A persistent cough, with or without sputum, shortness of breath and chest tightness are all symptoms of Silicosis. All of these usually appear over many years of exposure to high levels of Silica dust, with the tissue of the lungs becoming damaged by Fibrosis and being replaced with solid nodules of scar tissue. Even after the exposure stops, the disease still progresses.
• Asbestos – work related disease due to asbestos exposure can be highly serious. Mesothelioma is cancer of the pleura and asbestosis is a form of lung fibrosis, both of which are a direct result of asbestos, as well as bronchial cancer.
• Occupational Lung Disease – covers a range of damage, affecting things such as the tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs (airways), the tiny air sacs where oxygen is transferred from the air we breathe into our blood stream. Other damage may affect the thin lining between our lungs and ribcage. Symptoms include chest pain, prolonged coughing, breathlessness and wheezing
• Occupational Asthma – it has been said that by 2010, the cases of occupational asthma are to be reduced by 30%. Occupational Asthma remains the most common form of work related illness. Dust from flour and grain; Industrial baking, farm work, grain transport. Wood dust, from hard wood, western red cedar, carpentry, joinery and sawmilling. Colophony, mostly found in soldering fumes but also present in glues and floor cleaners Dust from latex rubber, from jobs involving latex gloves used in nursing and dentist work. Dust from insects and animals are all causes of Occupational Asthma.
The above list is only a small section of work related illness and disease that can affect many employees.

Four Simple Principals For Controlling Weight Through Diet

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

When it comes to diet, weight control is the number one concern for people choosing to actively modify their meals for the sake of changing how much they weigh. No matter what your weight control goals are, understanding how the body processes nourishment can help you meet your weight control goals. These four simple principals should help you take control of your diet and meet your weight control needs.
First, your diet must be high in quality. Consider this: The standard American diet is high in sugar, high in fat, high in salt, highly processed and low in nutrition. Regardless of your goals for weight control, a healthier diet, from whole, unprocessed foods, will improve your health by eliminating toxins and help your body make the most of the nourishment in the food you eat. Would you choose the lowest quality gasoline, filled with impurities and additives that damage your car? Why then would you choose equivalent foods and put them in your body?
Second, nourishment in your diet must be complete. The facts show that the level of essential nutrients in a “good diet” is far lower compared to measurements from just 20 years ago. Because of this, you need to choose high-quality, food-based supplements to ensure that your body has the micronutrients it needs to support correct cell function.
Third, for optimal health, the amount of nourishment you receive from your diet must be appropriate for your needs. The diet of some movie star is not necessarily right, or even safe, for you. If your weight control desire is to loose weight, you should reduce your calories and favor low-glycemic foods which take longer to digest and slow your insulin response.
Fourth, your diet must be balanced. On average, you should receive twenty percent of your daily calories from protein, thirty percent from fat and fifty percent from carbohydrates. However, if we remember the first principal, a meal with fat from fried appetizers and carbohydrates from simple starches and refined sugars in not a high quality source of nourishment. Your protein should come from high quality sources such as fish, legumes and beans. Fat should also come from fish, and legumes, as well as flax seed, avocados, extra virgin olive oil and other high quality fat sources. The carbohydrates should come from whole produce and as much of it as possible should be raw. It’s very unlikely that you will find any of these things in the drive through or from the frozen section of the grocery store. It might be time to buy a cook book or two and learn how to prepare simple meals from real ingredients.
If your weight control goals are for weight gain, the four principals still apply. You simply need more calories from your diet. Instead of increasing portion sizes, add one or more extra meals a day. There are limits to how much the body can process from a single meal so adding an extra meal or two will allow your body to make the most of your additional intake.
Everyone should be able to enjoy the foods we include in our diet. Weight control is simply a matter of adjusting the intake of calories compared to how much is being consumed through exercise and basal metabolism. By following these four simple principals we can enjoy better health and help our bodies achieve our own, individual healthy weight.

Old Clothes

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Old Clothes
I have certain things in my life that I hang onto for really no reason at all. The bucket of bolts in the garage that I know I will use someday. There is the old inner tube from a tire I don’t own anymore that has never been off the wall where it hangs, but you never know. You know what everybody says – three weeks after you throw it away, you’ll need it. So we hang onto everything. The worst for me is old clothes. I know I’ll fit into that someday. It used to fit. It will fit again. The thoughts are funny sounding when I write them down. The real funny part is that I have clothes that are too big and too small, yet I tell my self that both will fit again some day. I went through a phase when I thought I was larger than I was. I guess I had this thing about not liking tight fitting clothes, so I bought everything in XL. So I have all these XL shirts that I am convinced aren’t really too big, but when I put them on, they still hang off me like a blanket.
The other bad habit I have is keeping the clothes that are too small for me with the thought I’ll lose weight and fit into them again. Some of the things I have from high school, but I am still convinced that I can get into them. Then there comes the thing about not liking tight fitting clothes. It’s a vicious cycle that I have been victimized by for years. And it’s not my fault.
If clothes wearing were the only area I did this, it would be a minor problem. But it’s not. I wear ‘clothes that don’t fit’ in other areas of my life. Like a job I took for a very fundamental Christian organization, where things like dancing and movie watching and gum chewing were mortal sins. I guess there is nothing wrong with not wanting to do those things, it’s just that I am more of the cigar smoking, drink-a-beer-once-in-awhile, ride-a-motorcycle kind of Christian, and that made us very different. It only took me a year of working there to discover the shirt didn’t fit.
There seem to be two things wrong with this picture. The first is that somewhere we got sold a bill of goods that says we should be someone we aren’t. I can’t tell you the number of guys I know working their butts off to be somebody their wife or their church or God wants them to be. They are walking through life in a shirt that is way too tight and it ain’t lookin’ pretty. They despise their lot in life and then try to solve it by heaping guilt on top to get them properly motivated. And they wonder what is wrong with them.
The second thing wrong is that we don’t trust the simple way of things. If a shoe is 2 sizes too small, why don’t we just trust that it is too small and try to get something that fits? If a person hated pickles, he wouldn’t order them three meals a day. He would trust he just doesn’t like pickles. If the temperature outside is 95 and we are sweating profusely, why do we say we shouldn’t be sweating? And if a certain denomination’s teaching sounds very off, why don’t we trust it and go somewhere else? We don’t seem to be able to distinguish a teaching or doctrine or belief system that doesn’t fit. We force it on and wear it around and then feel bad that it doesn’t fit. We assume that we must be the problem, that we aren’t doing something right. We figure if we change ourselves or work harder, the shirt will fit. We never realize that maybe it’s the shirt we wear that is the problem, not us. If it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t fit.
So we slide into our ‘shoulda-gotta-oughta’ and wear it around like it was made for us. “I don’t really get anything out of the sermon, but it’s probably because I am not working hard enough to pay attention.” Surely it couldn’t be because the preacher likes the security of his professional church employee status more than the real call of God because it keeps him from having to go back to roofing for a living. We never question that the preacher might just not be a very good preacher, or that the whole system of what we do on Sunday morning might be the problem. Maybe it isn’t his job to spoon feed us our spirituality every Sunday. Maybe that should be our job. The irony is that most preachers who bore a congregation Sunday after Sunday have outgrown their clothes as well, but continue to wear the same old suit because it’s what they think we want to hear.
What would our faith look like if we were to simply trust when something doesn’t fit. When we hear an excuse that seems extremely far fetched, why don’t we trust that it’s probably a lie? What if we were to decide to trust the sense of not fitting? What if we only wore the roles and functions and giftedness that really fit who we are and the core of what gives us true joy? What if we vowed to never wear clothes or roles or functions that aren’t us, especially when the only motivation to wear them was because someone else thought we ought to? I want to get to the point where I stop doing anything out of obligation and guilt and shame, and only did things that were stirred in me from a place of love and compassion and honest relating? What if faith meant not some grand venture into some spiritual escapade that looks impressive and gains us accolades from the congregation around us, but faith meant learning to trust God in the way to go – listening to the natural flow of the river around us, listening to the God-given call and ‘way of being’ that has always been true inside us? What if our way of being in the world were the very evangelistic tool to win others to Him, because it was the way of a true human fully alive and reflecting his image?
I am tired of clothes and roles and expectations that don’t fit anymore. I want to find a way of life that is vitally alive with a way of being that fits to the very core the way I was meant to live.
I think it’s time to start wearing only the clothes that fit, and throw the rest away.

Credit Debt Consolidation, Are We All Sitting On A Time Bomb Waiting To Explode?

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

OK listen up folks, do you have a mountain of debt on your credit cards that would probably put a third world developing nation to shame?
Suddenly does it seem to you and you alone that there is nothing in the classifieds but advertisements from Companies all promising competitive rates on Credit Debt Consolidation?
Are becoming obsessed with hiding the credit card statements before your wife gets to the post in the morning?
You do?
Well do not be too despondent because it would appear that you are not alone in all of this. Does this not make you feel better? You feel like going out and treating yourself to something new right away!
See, that is the problem. It appears that the average person in the US is about $8,000 to $10,000 in unsecured debt at any one time. Now for a certain part of the population that may or may not be a problem but for the average household it is and the knock on effects of this could be devastating on the economy.
One of the reasons for this mountain of debt, it is argued is the difference between the average wage and the average cost of living, Basic balance of payments issue in Macro economic terms and the gap between monthly income and monthly expenditure in micro economic terms. In summary, living la dolce vita!
Sound familiar? Yes full marks to the guys at the back, we are living beyond our means and sooner or later it is going to catch up with us all big time!
If we take a look at the basic issue at stake here we have a mountain of debt that the average person only services the bare minimum of. So let us look at the basic mathematics. Person A has an income of $40,000 per annum and credit card debt of $10,000 that they clear at the rate of the bare minimum (usually 5% per month) so this roughly equates to $500 per month out of a disposable income of roughly $2,500 per month.
This means that twenty percent of their income goes straight out of the door to service existing debt before they have had a chance to cover the ongoing expenses for the month. Throw into the mix the unexpected hospital visit, pet care expenditure or domestic crisis or automobile problem and before you know it the problems merely increase
You do not have to be a fiduciary genius to spot the potential flaw in this whole exercise. As a major national charity for the Homeless once said we are all a mere 3 missed pay checks from being without a roof over our heads. OK this may be slightly on the over dramatic side but by studying the information above it is quite easy to see how very easily this could happen.
Financial habits like these are all well and good in days of low interest rate but when the economy starts to cool and the markets react badly then we have to change our ways or go under.
If you are going to do something positive about this then make sure that whatever decision you reach, whatever route you plan to take is the right one for you and one that you see yourself accomplishing in its entirety.
Do not let this force you into some rash and foolish credit debt consolidation exercise that might cost you more in the long term.

Another 50 Billion Dollars for Iraq

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

I woke up this morning thinking about Iraq. Last night I learned President Bush has asked for another 50 billion dollars to cover the cost of the Iraq war. Some news agencies report the cost of the war is now at 3 billion dollars a week.
How much more suffering can be inflicted on the Iraqi people for another 50 billion? How many more American soldiers will be killed while spending that 50 billion? Who is going to get that 50 billion dollars? What is not being done in this country because another 50 billion is going to someone waiting in Iraq?
Do some reading online and you can find reports of the dismal conditions in Iraq. The infrastructure is so poor that in Baghdad the electricity is on about 8 hours per day. That is the capitol city and is the most developed city in the country. Other places are even worse with sewage in the streets and no drinking water. Forget about electricity.
Are we to disbelieve these reports are just liberal carping and fixation on the problems in Iraq? Or can we look at this and realize money is just being shoveled down a black hole? Companies have been paid billions for reconstruction work on infrastructure and the situation is still abysmal. About 20 billion dollars appropriated by Congress four years ago for reconstruction has been spent.
Take Bechtel for example. This company has been paid 1.3 billion dollars for sewer project work. Less than half of the projects have been completed. About 40 percent of their bills for work have been for “support” costs. Nearly 250 million dollars has been billed under the category “Other”. I am sure this pattern is repeated over and over again with these “no bid contracts”.
I was looking at a list of the top 200 contractors for the Federal Government. KBR, a subsidiary of Halliburton, is number 6 on the list, you will recall the Vice President’s relationship to Halliburton. Almost 6 billion dollars for KBR from the Department of Defense. The top 5 are a who’s who of arms makers.
Verizon received over 200 million in Defense Contracts from the Department of Defense. And there is old Blackwater USA, the private mercenary contractor at just below 600 million dollars. Blackwater is the employer of former military people, White South African military, South American thugs, and Central American death squad members. Read Jeremy Scahill’s book about Blackwater USA.
This is all published information and probably legal. But, it is interesting who gets what from the government. A tragic outcome, and also a pattern in the Bush Administration is, people who have blown the whistle on corruption in Iraq have actually been punished. For daring to report illegal arms sales, Navy veteran Donald Vance says he was imprisoned by the American military in a security compound outside Baghdad and subjected to harsh interrogation methods.
Vance made his report to the FBI office in Chicago because there was no one in Iraq he could trust. He revealed an arms selling operation that was selling anything to anyone who had the money. These were the arms intended for use by the US military being sold to insurgents. Vance tried to expose it and wound up in prison being tortured.
Apparently, the unspoken word in Iraq is don’t say anything about corruption or wrong doing because you will be destroyed for doing so. A very neat arrangement for any corporation who wants to make a buck.

Law of Attraction: Making it Sure it Works in Your Life

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Think and grow rich. Attract what you want by thinking of what you want. The film The Secret and the Law of Attraction has highlighted the concept that anything is within the field of our possibility if we desire it strongly enough, believe in it and take action towards getting or achieving what we want or dream about. It has shown innumerable instances where people have achieved what they wanted by thinking believing hard enough.
Why is it then that millions are not having what they want or achieving the happiness they desire? That they are treading in poverty, unhappiness, unease? The secret lies in another secret. This secret is that a lot of people do not even know what they really want.
Here are 5 steps to align the law of attraction and our lives in order to achieve what are really want.
1.Visualize what you want to be as your ideal self.
What excites you? Do you really want to achieve this? What are you passionate about? If you did not have to work for the money, would you still be in the same job right now? Know yourself. If you knew had the power to change and could not fail, what steps would you take? Think of ways you can get to achieve what you want, working from where you are right now.
2.Write your goals
Writing major goals every day magnetizes the mind to what you really want to accomplish . Goals are critical to your success. Know in your mind what you want to be ultimately, and what you are right now. Categorize your goals into the following: physical, intellectual, spiritual, organizational ( time management), people and relationships and financial.
3. Review your goals
Think through your goals again. Do you really want to achieve them? How would you feel if you really accomplished them? How would you feel if you had a million dollars right now? How would you feel if you had no worries in the world? Most people are not prepared to achieve a million dollars. They feel uncomfortable. Deep down inside, they may feel they are undeserving, or they may have had bad experiences with having much money. They may lose their friends if they had this. Unconsciously, they may only feel comfortable with only a couple of thousand dollars in their bank.
Many similarly sabotage themselves. They do not believe happiness is for them, and thus create a situation where they appear and are unhappy. Previous experience may have taught them that being unhappy may have gotten them an advantage, eg love and pity of friends and family. Know yourself. If you really were to achieve the goals you set out to, you may have to change. Change your friends. Change your concept. Are you prepared to do so?
4. Internalize your goals.
Sharpen your saw daily. Learn, review, meditate, believe. Believe in yourself, your worthiness. This is hard work. Rewiring your thought process, and changing your thought patterns. A lot of people skip this part, but it is the most important. Know why you want to change and what you want to change.
5. Finally, affirm each of these goals daily, as if you’d already achieved your success.
Write it down. Most recommend writing on a 3X5 inch card and repeating the statement over in their minds.
